Pockets Full of Soul
Hi! I’m Rachel. This site is a chronicle of my self-work, where I lay my heart, soul, and mind bare. I hope that my words may help others, just as others’ words have helped me on my journey. I’m a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, a philosopher, a writer, a creator, an animal lover, and a deeply flawed human trying to be a little better each day. My purpose here is to keep learning, keep letting my heart break open wider and wider, to help, to heal, to learn, to grow, to share with the world.
“Live from your heart. Share from your heart. And your story will touch and heal people’s souls.” –Melody Beattie

About Rachel
Hear It From Me
I want this to be a site for healing, for discussion, for open-minded and intelligent argument. I want this to be a place of love, truth, exploration, learning, and growth. I want this site to foster genuine connections between people. Here I want to share and explore my interests and passions with you, to share some of what makes me tick.
I’ve been keeping a journal since my junior year of high school and I’ve never let anyone read my journal entries, so this is a huge step into the unknown and into my fears.
I’m 40 years old, single, never married, no kids. I come from a big, loud family with a lot of opinions and a lot of drama. I’ve always enjoyed writing – it is my joy, it is how I process my external and internal worlds, it’s what I feel called to do with my time here on Earth. If formal education matters to you, I have a BA in Psychology from Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX and a BS in Business with emphasis in Communications from the University of Phoenix.
